Air Quality Update: Monitoring Local Conditions

District leadership is actively monitoring local air quality following an Air Quality Watch issued by Santa Barbara County health officials. Here is the current information we have:

• Current Status: Smoke from the Timber and Plaskett Fires in Monterey County has reached our region. Ground-level air quality is currently Good to Moderate, though conditions can shift quickly.

• School Safety: We are using official Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District guidelines to monitor conditions and will modify or move outdoor activities, P.E., and athletics indoors if smoke levels increase.

• Student Care: Students with pre-existing conditions like asthma, or any student who expresses difficulty breathing, will be accommodated indoors.
